La Cour du verger dates to the 12th century. Legend has it that the manoir once housed the nuns of the Roussac
church, then later, it became home to a famous apothecaire. It is said that people travelled from all over
France for his cures. These days, La Cour du Verger has its own particular type of cure for modern day maladies
and worries.
Our hospitality philosophy is simple - we provide the best possible food, accomodation, environment,
attention
and experience that we can, so that you can unwind, recharge and leave the outside world behind.
Healthy, delicious food and great French wine are at the heart of our dining experience. We grow
organic
herbs and vegetables, which form the basis of our meals and by the use of our polytunnel, we extend the growing
season
to bring you a garden-to-table experience.
Why not join us in our kitchen for a conversation about the field-to-table experience or for a course
in
bread making?
We always extend a very warm welcome.
At your request, we can arrange refreshments in your room to greet you upon arrival.
Explore Our Meadows, Woods and Fields
The manoir is set within its own grounds of 32 acres, all of which are available for the use of our
guests.
Sitting at 1,000ft above sea level, our grounds encompass rolling hills, parkland, gardens, woodland,
meadow,
fields and our own private lake, which is a short wander from the manoir.
